The theme of Morasha 2016 is “Live to Give” and these values were certainly on display on Friday, when campers and staff ran a marathon and raised over $60,000 for Camp Simcha. The tzedaka raised from “Morasha Runs B’Simcha” will fund a brand new facility called the “Candyland Canteen,” which promises to bring thousands of smiles to the 430 children at Camp Simcha and Camp Simcha Special.
The day was rounded out by special shiurim and a carnival for the entire camp. It was a great end to a jam-packed week. Campers were still on a high from Thursday’s exhilarating trip to Hershey Park, and Wednesday’s Purim in July, where everyone dressed up and enjoyed a silent DJ chagiga.
