Week Five 2025
Dear Friends,
Over the past three weeks, our educational content and themes were rooted in Ayin Tovah — seeing the good in the world, in others, and in ourselves. Building on “See the Good” is “Be the Good.” Positive perspective leads to positive action. How can our campers and staff serve as a positive force — as a friend, citizen, and Jew? This week’s theme is “Be the Good Friend”.
Summer camp gives kids a unique chance to learn how to be a good friend by placing them in a fun and supportive environment where teamwork and kindness are part of daily life. Whether they’re working together on a group activity, sharing a bunk, or helping each other through a challenge, campers learn to listen, communicate, and support one another. They also gain empathy by meeting new people from different backgrounds and discovering the importance of respect and cooperation. These experiences help kids build strong, lasting friendships and learn what it truly means to be a good friend.
This theme is perfectly situated between yesterday’s six-way intercamp and the upcoming weekend of Shabbat Chazon and Tisha B’av. May our work on being a good friend help pave the way for the third Beit Hamikdash, bimheira b’yameinu. Wishing you a meaningful fast.
